Routinely, a member of the staff will arrange a convenient time for an initial phone interview. The purpose of the phone interview is to determine which services would best help the client and whether the Psychological Service Center can provide these services. In most cases, a therapist is assigned to the client within a week. If after the phone interview, it is determined that the Center cannot provide adequate help, the client is offered a referral to another professional or agency.
Information on Fees:
Fees are set on a sliding scale that is based on the clients gross income and number of dependents; we are not able to accept insurance. Fees for therapy range from $15 to $40 and are charged for each hour of service delivered. Fees for neuropsychological testing are also sliding scale, and range from $100 to $160 per hour spent with the client. Clients are not charged for analyzing the results or writing the final report.
Every effort is made to make fees affordable. The Psychological Service Center is an excellent resource for people who either do not have or do not wish to use their health insurance for counseling or other mental health issues (since insurance records are not completely confidential). Our services, including inquiries, are strictly confidential.
